Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Cards

For this card I cut out 3 Sizzix leaves and embossed them into the Stampin' Up paper with the Square Lattice Folder.  Sentiment is computer generated and and punched out with the Decorative Label punch.

This card also uses the Sizzix leaf die cut but this time I placed it on the SU card stock in a falling pattern and backed the negative space with designer paper.  Sewed around the edges and added some brads.

My third card was made following a design by Beate Johns found here:
http://beate.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2012/10/08/autumn-blessings-2/
Again I used the negative space left by cutting out a leaf design from the Spellbinders Foliage die cuts, sewing around the edges, adding twine a button and some brads.  Sentiment is from SU Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

My Scrap Room

Many people have requested that I post photographs of my scrapping space.  When I began paper crafting I accumulated quite a bit of "stuff" that needed storage space, so when our granddaughter vacated this room, I decided to turn it into my craft room.  My wonderful husband allowed me to design this room to fit my needs for all things paper art related.

Entering the room is a desk space that can quickly be converted to my Cricut or Sewing station.

I have a small flat screen television and my Copic marker and colored pencil area.  These drawers hold all of my small tools and containers of all of my special handmade flowers, adhesives, paints, glitter, etc., and of course a very small drawer for paperwork the /:( kind.

The area under the window is where I do all of my handwork the lighting can not be beat.  My computer and printer area.

This counter and drawer area is my favorite place to stand and stamp.  I designed four of the drawers to hold my 12x12 papers in hanging folders.  The two end drawers hold my 8.5x11 papers.  On the counter top is my homemade foam core stamp pad holder, recently made cards, paper cutters and score board.  I also have my acrylic blocks and stamp cleaner.  The little black box is a cd holder with hanging files which holds all of my Spellbinder type die cuts.

This is my "hutch" which sits between the entrance door on the left and the walk-in closet on the right.  The shelves hold my Catalogs, Cricut Cartridges, Stamp Inventory Catalogs, Stampin' Up acrylic mount stamp sets and current project displays.  Drawers hold more tools, mat packs, extras stamp cleaning pads, etc.  Cupboards hold my larger equipment like the Big Shot, Cuttlebug, laminator, etc.

Lastly the view from the entrance door looking at my steal of a deal walnut table snagged from a garage sale for a mear $10 including two large leaf inserts.  I use this table to spread out projects and hold small stamp club groups.

Christmas

In keeping with my effort to make at least one Christmas card per month, I made this origami tree using Stampin' Up papers and card stock.  Super simple and really striking with the glitter.

The following four cards were made using the recently released "All Is Bright" papers by My Mind's Eye.

Pretty little deer card was made using the following die cuts and punches:
Poppy Stamps - Gentle Leaf
Martha Stewart - Pine Sprig
Punch Bunch - Bellflower
Sizzlits - Holly w/Berries
Tim Holtz - Mini Reindeer
Mark's Finest Papers stamped sentiment from the Cardinals In Winter set.

This is probably my favorite little card for this Christmas.
Sentiment is a stamp - Micheal's
Poinsettia - Spellbinder die cut
Holly leaves - Martha Stewart punch
Brad - My Mind's Eye

This lovely Bird was cut from the My Mind's Eye paper and embellished with a tiny pompom and a dab of red Stickles.  All other embellishments are from the MME embellishment pack.

And finally a card of JOY for the season also cut from the MME paper.  A touch of red/white twine to add some joy.

Thanksgiving Cards

Give Thanks card made following a design layout by Dina Kowell found here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/2254057?&cat=500&ppuser=17703
Thank you Dina.

Card base is Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip.  I used Kraft and paper bag paper to make the background stamped with Fresh Vintage stamp set (as is the 3 stamp).  the leaves are Kraft and paper bag papers too.  The Kraft leaves were spritzed with water, wrinkled up, unfolded and dried before brushing with various SU inks.  The paper bag leaves were stamped with a leaf stamp by K&Co.  Post Card paper is from Bo Bunny Apple Cider Collection and the stamp is from the Winter Post set.  Postage cancellation stamp is by Scrappy Cat.  Give Thanks is from Michael's.

Another card using Stampin' Up and BoBunny papers.  This one uses a piece of frayed burlap and a pinecone stamp from Micheal's.

This lovely leaf card was cut out using the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  The Bountiful Season stamp is by Close To My Heart colored with SU watercolor pencils, a small piece of burlap and a button complete the card.

I was inspired to make this card after seeing some lovely examples online.  Simple white paper background is Bazzill paper with a computer generated sentiment.  Woodland Branch die is by Memory Box.  For the leaves I folded a paper bag to make multiple layers and punched out the leaves with a small Marvy punch, brushed with various SU inks and glued down.
