Wonderful Winterland

It's time to play with the November 2016 Paper Pumpkin Kit, Wonderful Winterland.  Here are just two of my alternative projects:

For the first card I tried using a full moon background, but it didn't meet my expectations, so back to the drawing board.  I ran out of the SU Irresistibly Yours DSP stars background sky paper, so for the second card I made my own with the Hero Arts Tiny Little Stars stamp and Versamark, embossed with clear embossing powder.

Card bases are thick SU Whisper White (A2) 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"  Second card is backed with a piece of Whisper White then Dapper Denim.  Sleigh Ride (retired) die used for foreground in dazzling diamonds paper.  The star is from the current Starlight Dies.  Trees were watercolored with Pear Pizzazz ink and Soft Suede marker.  Dapper Denim ink was sponged over the starry sky.

Santa's Coming To Town

Back in 2013 I made a few of these money/gift card holders as stocking stuffers, they were pretty much a pain even though I had made a pattern.  Fast forward to 2016 with a few more paper crafting skills under me belt, when I decided there had to be a better way.

I have had requests for them over the years from my groups and clubs, so I set out to make this project as easy as possible so that it could be reproduced with these classes in mind.

It took me an entire day to design, cut out and put together just one.  But now I have an excellent pattern to follow using die cuts and punches, except for the hat and moustache which were hand drawn and used as a template to upload to my Cricut for cutting.

Can you tell in the above photo which Santa was made three years ago and which one was made today?

All papers and card stock by Stampin' Up.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.
