America is Amazing

In honor of Flag Day tomorrow, I made this red, white and blue Blended Bloom card.   I will never forget how hard fought the cost of our freedom is.  I proudly display our colors in honor of all our ancestors.  America is Amazing.

Painter's Palette Friendship Art

A little expression of love, our friendship is a work of art.  This is for a dear friend who I met through the wonderful sisterhood of paper artists at  We all speak the same language of art and appreciate the loving details of everyone's beautiful work.

Banners for You - Casing The Catty

Inspired by the image on page 78 of the 2015-16 Stampin' Up Catalog, I CASED this card using some of the new 2017-19 In Colors.  So bright and cheerful with Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist with black accents.

Pocketful of Sunshine 16th Birthday

Someone I know will celebrate their 16th Birthday on June 16 and to mark this happy occasion I made this card using the new 2016-17 Stampin' Up stamp set Pocketful of Sunshine.  Behind the sun and inside the pocket is a tag that holds some "pocket money" and since our birthday boy has a sunny personality and it is summertime, I used some fun dsp from the Carried Away paper pack.  The base is Night of Navy.

Keep The Faith

In my bedroom hangs a piece of art by the Cleveland artist Peter Wood, one of his very early, calm and soothing pieces depicting an apple and a cup, painted in soft greens, yellows and grays. I love seeing this painting every morning when I wake up, so for both the TLC640 and CAS431 Challenges today over at I decided to play along with the pear from Stampin' Up's Faith In Nature (Retired).

I stamped the pear in black Staz-On ink and masked it, then using a credit card and water based inks, I swiped over the image. After letting it dry, I removed the mask and cut it out with a stitched edge square die and popped it up with foam adhesive strips. I stamped the sentiment in Staz-On black under the pear piece. I was surprised at how much I love this little piece of art.

2017 SU Eastern Palace Invitations

These are some of the invitations to my 2017 Stampin' Up Ice Cream Social Open House and Catalog Reveal Party.  I used Stampin' Up Bermuda Bay and Pool Party card stock and the Eastern Beauty Stamp Set with the Gold Vinyl Stickers for the Eastern Palace Suite of products.

Purple Seahorse

Summer is just around the corner.  This seahorse card was painted with watercolors.  I drew in the seagrass, added some bubbles and popped up the seashells and starfish. Diecut the curvy waved bottom and used a scrap piece of purple and white from an old SU Paper Pumpkin kit to finish off the bottom.

Dutch Daisy May

For this Dutch Fold card design I used the SU Timeless Tags die to cut out the daisy flower in white, yellow, green and black, then cut an oval for the base and removed the pieces from the die and glued them into the black frame. I then cut a white and black oval to frame the daisy.

The background is from my stash of a Carolina Breeze designer cardstock paper pack.

Lighthouse View

This lovely lighthouse view through the window was made using several stamp sets and the Stampin' Up retired Hearth and Home dies.

The Art Impressions lighthouse was stamped onto watercolor paper and colored with pencils and a blender pen.  I added the seagulls and sponged the sky with sky blue.  I cut the scene to fit in the window, added a piece of transparency film to the back of the window then strips of dimensional foam and placed it onto the scene and glued the scene to the front of the card.  The starfish is from the retired By the Seashore set, stamped in Pumpkin Pie.  The sentiment is from the new Stampin' up set Eastern Palace.

Eggshell Dragonfly

This masculine birthday card was made with Stampin' Up thick Vanilla Card Stock and Urban Underground DSP.  The dragonfly from Dragonfly Dreams was stamped on heavy card stock, cut out with the matching die.  I guled sterilized eggshells to the wings using modpodge, and when they were dry, I dripped Adirondack Lettuce Alcohol Ink over the cracked eggshells for color and added a bit of gold Wink of Stella to the dragonfly body.

Blue Cornflowers

Pretty blue cornflowers on Stampin' Up crumb cake card stock.  Images are from the "Touches of Texture" stamp set and watercolored with pencils.

Botanical Blooms Thanks

This card features the Stampin' Up Botanical Blooms stamp set in pretty spring colors.

Paper Pumpkin April Alternatives

Here are six alternative cards made using the Stampin' Up April 2017 Paper Pumpkin "A Sara Thing" kit.

Welcome Spring

This is for the Color Challenge CC629 and Sketch Challenge SC639 over at

After cutting out my card stock pieces I used the dots stamp from Happy Watercolor to ink it up in the same ink color as the card stock. Stamped the flowers and butterflies from Flowering Fields and colored them in, added the liquid pearls and crystal drops and let it dry. Stamped the sentiment from Circle of Spring and cut it out as a banner.

Stamps:  Stampin' Up, Flowering Fields, Happy Watercolor, Circle of Spring
Paper:  Thick White, Whisper White,  Sweet Sugarplum, Mint Macaron, Pear Pizzazz
Ink:  Sweet Sugarplum, Mint Macaron, Pear Pizzazz

Accessories:  Butterscotch Liquid Pearls, Nuvo White Crystal Drops, Sequins

Just Ducky

Love this little duckling in the rain image, inked him up with Copics and Stampin' Up Blendabilities in three shades of Coastal Cabana, which looked more like Lost Lagoon so I used the polka dotted Lost Lagoon dsp for the background and scalloped oval frame.

Paper:  Neenah Solar White

Ink:  SU Coastal Cabana and Lost Lagoon, yellow and blue watercolor
Accessories:  Ribbon from my stash, sponged edges.

Night Flight Black Magic

Started by stamping the balloons in Versamark and heat set with WHITE embossing powder, colored over with oranges and greens Copics. Masked the balloons and stamped the stars, when dry I used the white Gelli pen.

Stamps:  SU Life Me Up, Love Sparkles, Sky Is the Limit
Paper:  Thick White, Pumplin Pie, Basic Black
Ink:  Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Whisper White, White Gelli Pen

Accessories:  Clear Embossing Powder, Copics

Feeling Wobbly?

This is for WT629 - That's What the Doctor Ordered over at splitcoaststampers.  I printed Izzy out twice, using one to cut and color just her head to be added on an action wobbler. Colored the rest with Copics, printed the sentiments in knucklehead font and cut them out for placement. Added the dots and a line around to frame.

Lift Your Spirits

Yupo Alcohol Drip Painting

Stamps:  Awesomely Artistic, Lift Me Up
Thick White, Yupo
Ranger Alcohol Inks, Hampton Art Black Marker

Background is my first attempt at alcohol drip painting onto Yupo paper. Once it was dry, I used a Hampton Art Marker to draw over the dripped inks. It is a little dark for a CAS card, but I couldn't pass up using it with the dragonfly.

Thanks for taking a look.

I Only Have Eyes For You Action Wobbler Card

I love this image from Bugaboo Stamps. Using watercolor paper and two images I colored both with the Zig Clean Color Markers, cut the head off of one (OUCH!) and used an Action Wobbler to pop it up onto the image on the card base. So darned cute when you flick that ear. The bones were stamped and die cut from the SU Howl-o-ween Treat set, I hand wrote the words, then added some color, which I should have done first. I stacked the bones up to fit on the card. Added some dots and lines with a Project Life pen and done.  I made this on National Puppy Day and submitted it to the Ways To Use It (WT628) Puppy Love Challenge over at splitcoaststampers.  Head on over there and take a look at all the other cute puppy cards.

Hello Friend

This card is for three Challenges; CAS421 Bunny Hop, WT627 Your Own Handwriting, and TLC630 Baby Wipe Watercolor over at

I cut a piece of watercolor paper to 5x7 and folded it in half. Using a baby wipe to add some yellow for the sun, then blue for the sky and green for the ground. I let it dry then stamped my image from Stampin' Up's retired, Serene Spring, stamp set in Staz-On black ink and colored with watercolor pencils. I finished with the sentiment and handwritten "hello friend".

Using a baby wipe to rub watercolor over the card stock was an interesting experience, and I have to admit that I tried it out on a few pieces of different card stock before I proceeded to make this card.

Thanks for taking a peek and I encourage you to join splitcoaststampers and play along with their daily challenges to learn new and interesting techniques and designs.

Using Canson 140 lb. watercolor paper, cut a mask from shelf liner for my octopus image, spritzed with water, then tapped on Ken Oliver Color Burst in blue, green, and yellow, and scrunched cling wrap over the top. Let it dry in the sun, removed the mask, and colored with Derwent Inktense pencils and a watercolor brush. I added the bubbles in black then went over the circles with white Gelly Roll pen. Added gold Wink of Stella to the eyes, grass and bubbles. I drew in the sea grass and stamped with Smile! from Janie's Girls.

Special Reason Birthday

I made this for my granddaughter who has a birthday coming up next week. I followed the Stephanie Purvis Tutorial over at SCS to make this Mani Pedi Gift Box. I was inspired to make the baby wipe technique designer paper by SU Artisan designer Barbara Meyer and to cover the box by SCS artist, Dina Kowall

Manicure/Pedicure Gift Box

The box is filled with two nail polish, a tin of polish remover pads, and a tin of cuticle cream.

The tag inside the box is stamped with the SU Love Sparkles stamp set and cut out with SU dies.

For the background, I started with brushing Yupo paper with alcohol, then tapping out some Color Burst powdered pigment inks in Pthalo Green and Lemon Yellow, applied some cling wrap and scrunched it up, placing in the sun to dry.

I stamped the frog and sentiment onto watercolor paper and painted him with Cucumber Crush ink and a watercolor brush, added the grass, then the fireflies, coloring them So Saffron and then adding Gold Wink of Stella. I also colored the frogs eyes yellow and added the Wink of Stella. To get the Peekaboo Peach, I water colored the sky and around the frog.

Fresh Laundry

This is for the IC587 Inspiration Challenge, over at I selected this image as my inspiration:

I have wanted to use this stamp for a very long time, as it is a retired set from 1997 and has always reminded me of my great-grandmother. I have photos of her hanging out the laundry, with use little girls running around the yard weaving in and out of her clean sweet smelling aprons softly flowing in the breeze.

On My Way

This is for splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge IC586.  We were to choose an image from the website and show our interpretation of that image.  Her is a piece of artwork that I selected as inspiration by Azis Pradana  of Jakarta, which can be found here:

Here is my card:

I stamped my Victoria Case image in Momento Summer Sky, colored with Copics and fussy cut. For the windows, I cut a frame and used Whisper White on a sponge to apply the ink, then I decided to add the Vellum in 1" strips for the windows. I popped up the image on dimensionals.

No Goodbyes

I am always looking for inspiration in everything. Here I used a Kleenex Box as my background because the colors matched the splitcoaststampers Color Challenge CC623

This is a sympathy card and the sentiment inside the card is a quote by Gandhi from CTMH stamp set Take Heart;

"There are no goodbyes for us, wherever you are, you will always be in my heart." -Gandhi

The Kleenex box was cut apart and pieced back together with tape on the back side.  I then fussy cut a strip for the elephant to walk on.

The elephant was stamped and fussy cut from chip board and soft suede and glued together for strength, Glossy Accents were spread all over the elephant and he was left to dry overnight.

Keywords: CC623 Perfect Island Party
Stamps: SU In the Wild, CTMH Take Heart
Paper: Pool Party, Basic Black, Soft Suede, Kleenex Box
Paper Size: A2
Ink: Staz-On and VersaFine
Accessories: Glossy Accents, Fussy Cutting

This particular card was made for the WT622 Spunky Old Broads Challange over at splitcoaststampers.  I know you must have at least one ditzy old hippie friend who hasn't changed at all over the last 50 years.  Well, this is my tribute to that friend.  To understand "Your Hair Is So Pretty!" you will have to visit my friend Lydia's blog here:
