Keep The Faith

In my bedroom hangs a piece of art by the Cleveland artist Peter Wood, one of his very early, calm and soothing pieces depicting an apple and a cup, painted in soft greens, yellows and grays. I love seeing this painting every morning when I wake up, so for both the TLC640 and CAS431 Challenges today over at splitcoaststampers.com I decided to play along with the pear from Stampin' Up's Faith In Nature (Retired).

I stamped the pear in black Staz-On ink and masked it, then using a credit card and water based inks, I swiped over the image. After letting it dry, I removed the mask and cut it out with a stitched edge square die and popped it up with foam adhesive strips. I stamped the sentiment in Staz-On black under the pear piece. I was surprised at how much I love this little piece of art.

Purple Seahorse

Summer is just around the corner.  This seahorse card was painted with watercolors.  I drew in the seagrass, added some bubbles and popped up the seashells and starfish. Diecut the curvy waved bottom and used a scrap piece of purple and white from an old SU Paper Pumpkin kit to finish off the bottom.

Dutch Daisy May

For this Dutch Fold card design I used the SU Timeless Tags die to cut out the daisy flower in white, yellow, green and black, then cut an oval for the base and removed the pieces from the die and glued them into the black frame. I then cut a white and black oval to frame the daisy.

The background is from my stash of a Carolina Breeze designer cardstock paper pack.

Lighthouse View

This lovely lighthouse view through the window was made using several stamp sets and the Stampin' Up retired Hearth and Home dies.

The Art Impressions lighthouse was stamped onto watercolor paper and colored with pencils and a blender pen.  I added the seagulls and sponged the sky with sky blue.  I cut the scene to fit in the window, added a piece of transparency film to the back of the window then strips of dimensional foam and placed it onto the scene and glued the scene to the front of the card.  The starfish is from the retired By the Seashore set, stamped in Pumpkin Pie.  The sentiment is from the new Stampin' up set Eastern Palace.

Eggshell Dragonfly

This masculine birthday card was made with Stampin' Up thick Vanilla Card Stock and Urban Underground DSP.  The dragonfly from Dragonfly Dreams was stamped on heavy card stock, cut out with the matching die.  I guled sterilized eggshells to the wings using modpodge, and when they were dry, I dripped Adirondack Lettuce Alcohol Ink over the cracked eggshells for color and added a bit of gold Wink of Stella to the dragonfly body.

Blue Cornflowers

Pretty blue cornflowers on Stampin' Up crumb cake card stock.  Images are from the "Touches of Texture" stamp set and watercolored with pencils.
